2016 Hispanic Scholarship Luncheon

Dear Supporter,

A growing number of students are arriving at our institutions of higher education with lower
incomes and lower levels of academic preparedness; too few are staying in school, succeeding
and graduating. Through your partnership, students from the greater Houston area are able to
develop effective workplace skills or successfully complete their degree and lead productive lives.

For 44 years, Houston Community College has built a reputation for quality, making sure that our
academic and workforce programs produce graduates that will be successful.
The Board of Trustees of Houston Community College and the HCC Foundation are committed
to promoting a progressive educational environment that addresses the state’s “Closing
the Gaps” initiative. This initiative focuses on increasing the college participation rates and
achievements of all Texans by 2017 and in particular, addresses the phenomenal growth in the
Hispanic population.

To support this important initiative, we respectfully invite you to join the HCC Hispanic Scholarship
Council (HSC) for its annual luncheon to be held on Friday, October 21, 2016, at 11:30 a.m., at
the Royal Sonesta, 2222 West Loop South, Houston, Texas 77027.
You can help by sponsoring a table at this HSC event. Information is enclosed regarding sponsor
levels and benefits. If you reply by September 23, 2016, we will assure your listing in the program.
To register and pay by credit card online, go to www.hccs.edu/hsc.
